Happy New Year’s

As predicted, I didn’t do any cooking this week. So for this week’s roundup, I’m going to keep it short and just wish everyone a very happy, relaxed 2007 replete with good meals shared with friends and family.

Are there any “traditional” dishes you eat on New Year’s Day to ensure good luck in the coming year? If so, I’d love to hear about them, so please leave a comment.

I don’t have traditional dishes per se. But a tradition we’ve stuck to is not going out on New Year’s Eve but ringing in the year with a special meal. I’ve got a filet mignon with shitaake sauce in mind for that this year, paired with a special napa cab that was under my tree.

    Happy New Year!
